Blog praise for Flip

The rather wonderful (and wonderfully named) teen book blog, We Sat Down, has just posted a very positive review of Flip. Run by a mother and daughter, under the pseudonyms M and Little M, the blog carries a range of excellent reviews and author interviews, among other things, and is well worth checking out by anyone interested in teenage and young adult fiction.

Here’s a pull-out quote of what they had to say about my book:

Flip is a great teen read (and lots of adults will like it too), worthy of all the book award nominations received and won. It is probably more suitable for older teens because of the subject matter and situations in the novel. But some mature 11 or 12 year olds may be comfortable reading it. Don’t be fooled by the seemingly light start though. This is a deep and satisfyingly challenging read that raises (and to some extent explores) very controversial questions about life, death, and the choices we make about them.”

Click here to read the review in full and to browse the rest of the We Sat Down blog. I met up with M and Little M in my local Caffe Nero a few weeks ago to do a very enjoyable interview, which is due to be posted on their blog later this week. I’ll post the link when it’s up.

. . . as promised, here are the links to parts 1 and 2 of the interview – the first part focuses on Flip, the second on me and my writing more generally:
