Marching on together!
As a lifelong Leeds United fan, I’m particularly pleased to hear that Flip has been shortlisted for the 2012 Leeds Book Awards.
It’s on a shortlist of six titles in the 14-16 age category and, I believe, the judging is carried out by pupils at participating schools across the Leeds area. The winner is due to be announced at an awards bash in May.
The other books in contention are: Wreckers, by Julie Hearn; Department 19, by Will Hill; Quarry, by Ally Kennen; Shadows on the Moon, by Zoe Marriott; and Angel’s Fury, by Bryony Pearce.
